Atelier homepage: “Spaces That Tell Stories” in a large serif over a dusk photograph of a black timber house

Overview

Atelier is a concept site for a fictional architecture and interior design studio. It explores how far restraint can go: a serif display face, bone and charcoal, and large photography doing the talking.

The challenge

Architecture portfolios live or die on their images, and most bury them in grids and chrome. The site needed to feel calm and expensive while still letting visitors move quickly between projects.

The solution

A curtain transition between every page, images that unmask as you scroll, a preloader that never holds the page for more than six seconds, and project pages generated from a single data file. All motion switches off for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
